The Mission is Ours
At La Valise we try our best to safeguard Mazunte's natural beauty and lead by example in ethical and sustainable tourism.
We remain dedicated to enhancing our eco-conscious efforts and invite guests to join us in this mission.
GREEN BEAUTY: We prioritize eco-friendly amenities, providing guests with reef-safe sunscreen and after-sun lotion at our beach clubs to protect the Mesoamerican Reef.
ZERO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC POLICY: Single-use plastic is strictly prohibited at our properties, and we encourage guests to reuse and recycle.
CLIMATE POSITIVE: We promote sustainable transportation by offering bikes and encouraging guests to walk instead of using cars.
SMOKE-FREE: We adhere to Mexico's smoking laws, banning cigarettes in all public areas and rooms.
EVERY DROP COUNTS: Guests are encouraged to reuse towels and indicate when they want their bedsheets changed to conserve water.
The Three Pillars
Community Minded
Our hotels, like bees in their hive, are committed to the well-being of their communities. Many are locally and family-owned, which allows them to offer an authentic experience and support local employment without discrimination. They purchase local products and support fair trade, from fresh fruits to crafts. In addition to giving back to the community, they engage in social impact initiatives, education, health, and climate change projects to enrich local life.

Cultural Custodians
Our hotels and destinations protect and promote local cultural identities by incorporating traditional and contemporary elements into their design, decoration, and cuisine while respecting intellectual property rights. Beyond maintaining significant sites, we enhance cultural properties through restoration projects. We immerse guests in local culture with authentic experiences, such as traditional cooking classes and pottery workshops.

Environmentally Conscious
These eco-hotels show that luxury travel can be sustainable. They go beyond minimizing environmental impact by actively regenerating and restoring their surroundings. They use renewable energy, reduce pollution, and manage waste responsibly. Greenhouse gas emissions are minimized, wastewater is treated and safely released, and solid waste is recycled. They also conserve biodiversity through coral reef regeneration, wildlife rewilding, and reforestation, ensuring that interactions with wildlife are non-invasive and managed responsibly.
